An interference fit means the insert section of the aluminum end cap is machined slightly larger than the inside of the aluminum tube it is designed for. When installed with a rubber mallet, the cap presses tightly into place and locks in securely without glue, screws, or welding.

This tight fit is what keeps the end cap from moving, loosening, or falling out over time. Because the fit is matched to the exact tube size, wall thickness, and internal corner detail, it gives a much cleaner and longer-lasting result than loose multi-fit caps.
At Nelsons CNC, each aluminum end cap is precision machined for a true interference fit, so end cap installation is quick, secure, and repeatable across fencing jobs.
